Mission

The Counseling Department is committed to ensuring that every student has a positive experience at Adams Middle School and that they are well-prepared to successfully meet the challenges of the future.   The Adams Middle School counseling program is designed after American School Counselor Association’s National Model, as well as the School Social Work of America’s: “Elements of School Social Work Services”.

Who We Are

Counselor:

Mr. Ploumen is our full time counselor time at Adams.  He earned his Master’s in Social Work degree from California State University San Bernardino.   He oversees all components of the counseling program.  You can reach him at the email link to the left or by telephone at 310-798-8636 x3911.

Interns:

Adams is fortunate to receive the support of school counseling interns and school social work interns from local universities.   The interns bring positive energy and enthusiasm to the school as well as increase the level of services we are able to provide at no additional cost.  The interns support many facets of the counseling program and also meet directly with students and parents.   They are under the close supervision of Mr. Ploumen who meets with them daily to guide them through all activities.
