Textbook Responsibility Policy

One of the most important skills a student should learn in middle school is “responsibility”.  “Responsibility” is a key word for our students.  We work to develop this skill, which will prepare them for high school and their future life.  One way is by making each student responsible for his/her own textbooks.

With this in mind, textbooks are assigned to individual students by number/barcode.  The condition of each book is recorded at that time.  Books checked out to students are to be left at home.  In every academic class there will be a classroom set of books for your student to use at school.  Students should not leave their books lying around on campus, including leaving them stored in a teacher’s room.  At the end of the school year, students will bring their books to school to be collected by their science teachers.  Your child’s diploma/yearbook/list of classes for the new school year will be held until any outstanding debt is cleared.
