Redondo Beach Unified School District is excited to announce that construction on our November 2012 voter passed Measure Q Solar Projects will begin Fall 2013.  Many of you are aware of the District’s continuing efforts to improve and modernize our schools.  We are grateful that our community recognizes the value of saving money and energy in order to provide the best educational environment for our students for today and into the future.

Adams Big Awards

The California Business for Educational Excellence (CBEE) Honor Roll identifies and recognizes the highest performing public schools in California that are consistently improving academic achievement, reducing achievement gaps and helping students become academically prepared for college.  The CBEE Honor Roll utilizes student achievement outcomes as the criteria and is a growing resource for schools to earn about best practices that increase student achievement.  The CBEE has selected Adams Middle School as scholar school to be placed on their honor roll!

CA Dream Act of 2011

The California Dream Act of 2011 is the result of two bills, Assembly Bill 130 (AB 130) and Assembly Bill 131 (AB 131). Together, these bills allow undocumented and documented students who meet certain provisions of AB 540 law (see below) to apply for and receive private scholarships funneled through public universities (AB 130), state-administered financial aid, university grants, and community college fee waivers (AB 131).

The CyberPatriot club at Adams is sponsoring a CyberSecurity Camp starting this Saturday, 23 August 8:30 - 10 am at Adams in room 22. Mr. John Harwell, Computer Technology Outreach Officer from the Computer Science Department, California State University Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) will be teaching it. It will run approximately 8 weeks. The syllabus will be distributed this Saturday. There is no cost to attend and is open to all interested students and parents. CyberPatriot is a national competitive program. Check out for more information. Want to join? See Mr. Estrada.


All students entering the 7th grade will need proof of a Tdap booster shot before starting school.  This requirement will be met by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) recommendation to receive one dose of Tdap vaccine on or after the 7th birthday.  In order to insure a smooth transition into the 7th grade, please bring in your proof of a Tdap booster shot to the Health Office right away.

The first day of school is Wednesday, August 27, 2014.

We are looking forward to an exciting year.  Please stay tuned for more information on registration for the 2014 - 2015 school year.  In the meantime, here is some information on registration:

Tuesday, August 12, 2014 9am to 1pm for 8th Graders.

Wednesday, August 13, 2014 9am to 1pm for 7th Graders.

Thursday, August 14, 2014 8am to 11am and 12:30pm to 3:30pm for 6th Graders.

Make-Up registration is Tuesday, August 19th, 2014 from 1pm to 4pm.

Camp Adams is Thursday, August 21, 2014 from 8am to 1pm for all new students.

All of the above events are scheduled to take place in the gymnasium.
