Meet the Support Team

To best meet the needs of our students, Adams Middle School is fortunate enough to have two full-time counselors (Last names A-K: Ms. Beach and last names L-Z: Ms. G.), a part-time EL Advisor, a School Psychologist, a TOSA (Teacher on Special Assignment), and Project-Alert Curriculum Counselor.  We are available by appointment Monday - Friday from 7:40am - 3:00pm or via phone or email consultation. Counselor (A-K): Amber Beach

Greetings! I am super excited to be starting my fourth year as a
counselor at the finest middle school in the South Bay. I serve students and families whose last names start with the letters A-K. I was born and raised in beautiful Bishop, CA and spent my childhood hiking and camping in the Sierras. College brought me to
the big city where I earned my Bachelor’s in Psychology with a Minor in Education from Loyola Marymount University. After studying and volunteering in Europe and Africa, I completed my Masters in Education with an Emphasis in Counseling and my Pupil
Personnel Services Credential from Cal State University Dominguez Hills. I love the outdoors, traveling, cooking, humanitarianism, quality time with friends and family, my turtle Sheldon; and I look forward to working with you!

Counselor (L-Z): Gina Guglielmana

Ms. Guglielmana or “Ms. G” grew up in Wildomar, CA and found her way to the Los Angeles area when she attended UCLA and earned her Bachelor’s degree in American Literature and Culture. Ms. Guglielmana then went on to earn her Master of Arts in Education: School Counseling and Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) credential from the University of Redlands. Ms. Guglielmana previously worked in Murrieta Unified School District as a substitute teacher and counseling intern and at Mt. San Jacinto College as an Associate Counselor. Ms. Guglielmana loves animals, spending time with family and friends, cooking, scrapbooking, and traveling. She is very excited to be beginning her first year in RBUSD and at Adams Middle School. She will be supporting students with last names, L-Z.

EL Advisor: Jennell Tanaka

This is Jennell Tanaka’s third year as the EL Academic Advisor at Adams Middle School.  Mrs. Tanaka has the opportunity to work with our English Learners (EL) to assist them in acquiring the English language and she supports them in successfully completing their courses. Mrs. Tanaka also works with all students during their matriculation to Redondo Union High School (RUHS). Mrs. Tanaka earned her Master’s in Education with an Emphasis is Counseling and Pupil Personnel Services Credential from National University. She also earned her Bachelor’s degree in Studio Art at CSU Long Beach. Mrs. Tanaka enjoys spending time with her family and attending as many Angels games as possible. Mrs. Tanaka is at Adams, Monday-Wednesday and at RUHS, Thursday and Friday.

School Psychologist: Jenna Tsuruta

Dr. Jenna Tsuruta (the ‘T’ is silent, like in Tsunami) is excited to be beginning her first year at Adams Middle School.  Dr. Tsuruta has been a School Psychologist for ten years.  She completed her Master’s in School Psychology at Loyola Marymount University, and is currently a part-time professor, teaching an ‘Introduction to Assessment’ class to School Psychology students.  Dr. Tsuruta recently completed her doctorate’s at USC in Educational Leadership, specifically Educational Psychology. At Adams, Dr. Tsuruta conducts assessments and serves students who have Individualized Education Plans (IEP's). Dr. Tsuruta grew up in the South Bay, and currently lives in Redondo Beach.  Her hobbies include swimming, Pilates, reading, volunteering, and spending time with my family.

TOSA: Andrew Estrada

This is Andrew Estrada's 1st year as the TOSA (Teacher on Special Assignment) at Adams Middle School.  As a TOSA, Mr. Estrada is  responsible for supporting our Title I student population, facilitating Student Success Team meetings, and implementing student    interventions.  Mr. Estrada previously taught 7th grade Social Studies and Honors Social Studies for 5 years at Adams.  Mr.   Estrada  earned his Bachelors in Sociology from UC Santa Barbara and is currently enrolled to obtain his Master's Degree in Educational  Administration from CSU Long Beach.  In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his 2 sons and his wife, playing golf, and attending    Dodger games.

Curriculum Counselor: Ashley MacDonald

Mrs. MacDonald is thrilled to join Adams Middle School as a Curriculum Counselor running the Project    ALERT drug prevention program for 7th and 8th grade students. Mrs. MacDonald earned her Bachelor’s degree in Communications with a minor in Spanish from UC Santa Barbara and her MA in Education & Human Development with an emphasis in School Counseling from The George Washington University in Washington, DC.  She also holds a Pupil Personnel Service Credential in School Counseling.  Mrs. MacDonald grew up in the South Bay and is excited to be back in the area after living on the East Coast for five years.  During her spare time, Mrs. MacDonald loves spending time with friends and family, reading, traveling and taking long walks with her daughter and dog.  Mrs. MacDonald is at Adams Thursdays, Fridays and alternating Wednesdays and at Parras Middle School on Mondays, Tuesdays and alternating Wednesdays.
