7th Grade Catalina Science Camp
Dear Parents and Guardians of Seventh Grade Students,
We are excited to offer our 7th grade students the opportunity to attend outdoor Science Camp. Catalina School Adventures is a science camp in Avalon, CA that will provide our students with an amazing experience that has the potential to not only increase their knowledge and interest in science, but may spark a life-long passion for learning.
Participation is optional and we only have reservations for 185 seventh grade students. Participating students will have the opportunity to visit Catalina School Adventures for a three-day, two-night excursion from April 17 – April 19, 2024. At Catalina School, students will participate in active, hands-on learning experiences in marine life, ecology, leadership, and more. Through an innovative curriculum and professional outdoor staff, students will experience the thrill of seeing, touching and learning about the world around them.
Students are housed in gender-specific dorms with chaperones. The cost for each student is $350. This includes camp, boat transportation and meals at camp however bus transportation fees will be determined later once the bus company is reserved.
If you would like to reserve a spot for your child to attend Catalina School, please do the following steps.
- Send a $175 non-refundable deposit (cash or check) to Mrs. Juarez in the main office by Wednesday, December 6, 2023. You may also pay by credit card on the ASB Web Store, please see the link on the Adams Website.
- Complete the form below and turn into Mrs. Juarez. Reservations are accepted on a FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED basis when deposit and form is turned into the office. Once all spaces are filled, students will be placed on a "wait list." We will contact you if a space opens up and your child is eligible to go.
Please note: grades, citizenship scores, and school behavior records will determine student eligibility to attend camp. The reservation is not confirmed until you have seen Mrs. Juarez with the correct paperwork.
Please make checks payable to Adams Middle School. Final payment is due no later than Friday, March 29, 2024. You may pay the full amount up front.
We hope our participating seventh grade students will have an experience at Catalina School Adventures that they will never forget! There will be a parent/student meeting on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at 3:30 p.m. via zoom. We will be discussing important information regarding the trip, so we hope you can join us.
