Welcome
I’m pleased to welcome you and your child to the 2023-2024 school year at Adams Middle School. We can all
anticipate an exciting year full of new learning, challenges, and rewards. This will be my twenty-third year of
teaching and my seventeenth year in the Redondo Beach Unified School District. I received my B.A. from the
University of Arizona and my teaching credential from Arizona State University. I also possess a CLAD certificate
(Cross-cultural, Language and Academic Development). While I taught fourth and fifth grade for five years, the majority of my career has been spent working with sixth graders. I love being part of the Adams Eagle community and am excited to be working on the sixth-grade ELA and math teams. I firmly believe that collaboration among parents, teachers, and students is essential and look forward to working with you throughout the year.
I believe that school can be the most wonderful, exciting place to be on earth. We have many new things to learn,
think about, and experience. My goal is to create critical thinkers that are active participants in their learning. All that I
ask is that each student is simply responsible for working hard and always trying their best. I hope to encourage
students to continue developing a growth mindset and recognize that mistakes and challenges lead to learning. One of
my mottos is: Remember, school is a place to practice, not be perfect.
