8th Grade Astro Camp

Dear Parents and Guardians of Eighth Grade Students,

 

We are excited to offer our 8th grade students the opportunity to attend outdoor Science Camp. Astro Camp is a science camp in Idyllwild, CA that will provide our students with an amazing experience that has the potential to not only increase their knowledge and interest in science, but may spark a life-long passion for learning.

 

Participation is optional and we only have reservations for 135 eighth grade students.  Participating students will have the opportunity to visit Astro Camp for a three-day, two-night excursion from February 14 – February 16, 2024.  At Astro Camp, students will participate in active, hands-on learning experiences in engineering, astronomy, leadership, and more.  Through an innovative curriculum and professional outdoor staff, students will experience the thrill of seeing, touching and learning about the world around them.

 

Students are housed in gender-specific dorms with chaperones.  The cost for each student is $410. This includes camp, bus transportation, and meals at camp.

 

If you would like to reserve a spot for your child to attend Astro Camp, please do the following steps.

  1. Send a $205 non-refundable deposit (cash or check) to Mrs. Juarez in the main office by Wednesday, December 6, 2023.  You may also pay by credit card on the ASB Web Store, please see the link on the Adams Website.
  2. Complete the form below and turn into Mrs. Juarez. Reservations are accepted on a FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED basis when deposit and form is turned into the office. Once all spaces are filled, students will be placed on a "wait list."  We will contact you if a space opens up and your child is eligible to go. 

Please note: grades, citizenship scores, and school behavior records will determine student eligibility to attend camp. The reservation is not confirmed until you have seen Mrs. Juarez with the correct paperwork.

 

Please make checks payable to Adams Middle School.  Final payment is due no later than Wednesday, January 31, 2024. You may pay the full amount up front.

 

We hope our participating eighth grade students will have an experience at Astro Camp that they will never forget! There will be a parent/student meeting on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at 3:30 p.m. via zoom. We will be discussing important information regarding the trip, so we hope you can join us.
