Principal's Message
Dear Adams Community-
Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year!
It is with great enthusiasm and deep gratitude that I accept the position of Principal at Adams Middle School. Over the past two years, I have had the privilege of serving this incredible community as Assistant Principal, and the two years before that as a Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA). My time at Adams has only strengthened my connection to our students, staff, and families, and equipped me with the tools needed to support our continued success.
The past four years have affirmed what I have always known: Adams is not just a school—it is a home.
Building a positive, inclusive school culture that fosters academic achievement and personal growth has been the cornerstone of my work as an educator. Now in my 18th year with the Redondo Beach Unified School District, I spent 13 wonderful years at Redondo Union High School, where I taught a range of Social Science courses—including Advanced Placement—and served as Activities Director for seven years. These experiences shaped my belief in culturally responsive instruction, high expectations, and the importance of empowering students to become reflective, accountable members of their school community.
As I step into this new role, I remain committed to cultivating an environment where every member of the Adams community feels seen, valued, and supported. Middle school is often viewed as a bridge between childhood and adolescence—but I believe it is much more. It is a transformative time when students begin to discover their strengths, develop their voices, and shape their identities. Together, we will ensure that our Eagles are not only academically prepared for the challenges of high school, but also confident, compassionate, and community-minded individuals.
I am honored to continue this journey with you and excited for all that we will accomplish together. Thank you for welcoming me into this next chapter as your Principal.
Soaring Together,
Brooke Mata
