Hi, I am Ms. Vrbka and I am the AVID Teacher and Coordinator. Thank you for visiting my class page!
I am thrilled to start my first (technical) year at Adams! Last year, I was a student teacher and long-term substitute on campus, which provided me the valuable opportunity to become acquainted with the wonderful Adams community. I am so happy to officially be part of the family!
Teaching is my passion and I consider teaching AVID my "dream job". AVID (Advanced via Individual Determination) focuses on community, connection, self-exploration, and strategies that will help students build upon the skills necessary to set them up for success, ultimately attaining the tools they need to reach their full academic potential and succeed in college.
A little about me, I grew up here in the South Bay and later attended Sonoma State University where I received my Bachelor of Arts in English. In 2021, I received my Single-Subject Teaching Credential at CSU Dominguez Hills. On my free time, I enjoy watching movies (80s John Hughes films are my guilty pleasure), writing, creating unnecessary amounts of playlists on Spotify, and spending time with my friends and family.
