Language Arts: Strategies used are designed to address the diverse learning needs of students with special needs, including modifications and accommodations as needed. Reading, writing, and vocabulary development are emphasized daily for all students. Students are taught using a variety of techniques including using a writing journal, sight word review with weekly assessments, language and grammar usage, phonics, comprehension skills, fluency development, and handwriting development.
Social Studies:Instruction comes from a specialized curriculum program called The Unique Learning System. This program is aimed towards students with special needs. The program offers a variety of topics that focus on teaching the material in an understandable and relatable format.
