Ms. Kim -Music
Hello! My name is Noorhee Kim and I teach music here at Adams Middle School. I teach Concert band, Symphonic band, Wind ensemble, Jazz band, and Vocal music, grades 6th-8th. I have a Performance and Music Education Degree from Bob Cole Conservatory and Single Subject Credential in Music from California State University of Long Beach.
I have three siblings close to my age and we all grew up playing an musical instrument. My twin brother played Trumpet, my older sister played Piano, and my older brother played the Clarinet. We were all in our music classes together. My twin brother was the Drum major at our high school marching band, and my sister frequently played piano for our high school's musical productions. We went our separate ways in college but whenever we can, we try to get together and travel. Most recently we went to Big Bear and San Luis Obispo.
My philosophy in teaching is to provide a safe place for students where they feel successful, safe to be creative, and give plenty of opportunities for students to explore playing their instrument. Growing up music class was always my favorite class, a class I looked forward to going when I went to school. I hope I can provide similar experience for my students.
